Dear
parents and guardians,
![]()
How can your child make the most of this new
school year? One way to focus your child’s energies is to work together to set
an academic goal. Ask your child to think about one thing they want to
accomplish this year. Write it down. Then you will need to describe the steps
that will lead your child to achieve the goal and when each step will be
realized. You may want to consider monthly goals and provide a shorter timeline
for younger students. Setting realistic attainable goals with your child
teaches many important lessons, including patience and persistence.
Wishing
you and your family a blessed year!

Lost
and Found:
This time of year begins our collection of lost no- name lunch boxes. Please, write your child’s name on the
OUTSIDE of their lunch box/bag. We
return to the student if we find it left on the playground. I have a very nice
blue insulated lunch bag (with an uneaten oatmeal pie still in it) in the lost
and found at this time. YOURS?
From the Art Department:
Please save the small plastic boxes with the snap top lid that wet wipes come
in. We use them in the art room. Please bring them to the elementary office.
Thank you.
Handbooks: Did your family receive more
than one handbook? We can use these for incoming
new families or interested visitors.
Please, send back any unused handbooks and we will recycle.
Thanks!

through the end of October – there is no parking in the north end of the main
playground / parking lot after school. Please be aware of this as you visit our
campus.
Parent Volunteers needed to
assist in the Cafeteria (food preparation/serving and equipment cleaning)
between 11:00am and 1:00pm. Please contact Mike McLaughlin in the Business
office (419-668-3005 ext 223) if you are interested.
Morning
Crossing Guards: Our morning crossing guards are seniors, Joe
Schafer and Justin Stoll. They will be out on Wooster St. every morning from
8:30-8:45am, during their 1st period study hall. Please, say thank
you as they are serving our little ones for no reward (unless someone wants to
hand them some cookies or donuts once in a while).
Uniform Sale:
Parents looking for gently used uniform items to purchase can stop by the
elementary any day during school hours and look through our large inventory. All
items are clean and reasonably priced. If you have items that you would like to
sell simply drop them off in the appropriate tubs, tagged with your name and
price and they will be added to the uniform sale. As items are sold, parents
will receive their payment sent home with their child. Call Mrs. Livengood for
additional details.
Pictures
wanted!!! Please e-mail Mrs. Livengood pictures of your
school events to nlivengood@ncsmail.org. We can also use pictures that are on a disk. We
cannot use photographs because the book is now done online. We would love
pictures of classroom activities, sports, concerts, field trips, etc. Thank you
for your help!!!

Trash Into Treasure: You can help NCS students by saving
Box Tops, Campbell’s soup labels, Schild’s IGA receipts, and Domino Dots. These items earn money for our school and
provide funding for classroom supplies and PTO activities. For Box Tops – simply clip away the excess
packaging and discard any expired labels.
For Campbell’s Labels – clip the UPC Bar Code along with the Labels for
Education character. Please note –
the front panel of the soup label is no longer accepted, only the UPC Bar
Code. Thank you for preparing your
labels before sending them in and for helping our school turn trash into cash.
